The incident happened on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at a Walmart in Ramapo, where the suspects attempted to escape after allegedly stealing merchandise, according to Ramapo Police.

Officers deployed RAPTOR-1, one of the department’s drones, to help in the search. The suspects were quickly located and detained, police said.

The department later released footage from the drone's camera on social media depicting their failed escape attempt.

Both men now face charges for larceny and possession of illegal drugs. Additionally, police said one of the suspects had an active warrant from the Stony Point Police Department for a prior larceny offense.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the suspects.
